How today's puzzle plays
Green locks an attribute; yellow means partial overlap — treat it as a hint, not a miss.
Attributes eliminate faster than names — think in categories, not favourites.
New to the game? The LoLdle guide explains every mode and how the colour feedback works.
Every mode's answer for both regions is at the top — Classic, Quote, Ability, Emoji and Splash — each labelled Europe or America with the puzzle number.
This half of the page does not change: it is the guide to how LoLdle's modes work, what the Classic columns can and cannot tell you, and how to use the answer table as a check rather than a spoiler.
LoLdle is the League of Legends member of the Wordle family, played at loldle.net; the champion list in its code has 173 entries, and every Classic guess is scored on seven properties.
The five modes
Classic asks for a champion and reveals seven properties of your guess — gender, position(s), species, resource, range type, region(s) and release year — green for an exact match, orange for partial, red for no overlap, with an up or down arrow on release year. Quote shows a line the champion says, with an audio clue after six tries. Ability shows one icon, its name unlocking after six tries. Emoji reveals one more emoji per guess. Splash shows a crop of a splash art from the original or any skin, zooming out with each try.
Each mode has its own daily champion, and the table at the top gives all five for each region. Classic is the only mode where the game scores your wrong guesses, so it is the one this page spends most time on; the LoLdle hub goes further, with the full species and resource breakdowns from the game's roster data.
Classic attributes, by how much each narrows the field
How the 173 champions in LoLdle's roster data (read 11 October 2026) divide on each column. Multi-valued columns overlap, so counts can add up to more than 173.
| Attribute | Values | Distribution in the roster data |
|---|---|---|
| Release year | 2009 to 2026, with arrows | 42 dated 2009; 109 from 2009–2012; median November 2011 |
| Species | 31 values, Human to Plant | Human 99; next largest Magically Altered 21; nine values have one champion |
| Region | 16 values; unknown origin is Runeterra | Ionia 29, Shurima 26, Noxus 25 … Icathia 2; 51 champions list several |
| Position | Top, Jungle, Middle, Bottom, Support | Jungle 50, Top 49, Middle 46, Support 39, Bottom 25; 35 list several |
| Resource | 13 values | Mana 145; Manaless 7; Energy 6; ten others with 1–3 each |
| Range type | Melee, Ranged, or both | Five champions carry both |
| Gender | Male, Female, Other | 102 male, 68 female, 3 Other |
A route through Classic
Because 109 of the 173 champions were released in 2009–2012, an opener from around 2011 splits the year arrow most evenly — 66 champions earlier, 24 in 2011, 83 later. Mana and Human are the most common values, so a guess that has both will usually show green or orange there, which confirms little; a red on either, by contrast, removes most of the roster. After the first guess, change every red property, keep every green one, and move the year in the arrow's direction. The worked example on the LoLdle hub shows two openers each reaching the answer on the third guess.
For Quote, Ability, Emoji and Splash there is no column feedback, only the clues the game unlocks: the audio of the line, the ability's name, one more emoji, a wider crop. Recognition comes from knowing the champions; the archive lists every past answer in every mode if you want to study them.
Regions and the answers shown
LoLdle's Time zone setting offers Europe (midnight at UTC+2) and America (midnight at UTC−6). Both regions work through the same numbered puzzles: across our files for 2 September to 11 October 2026, every puzzle number seen in both regions had the same champion in every mode, and America was one number ahead on 16 of the 40 dates. Each region's rows show what it was serving when our fetcher last read the game's public cache that day, captured by the pipeline described on the editorial policy page and published automatically. If your game shows a different champion, compare the puzzle number. Related daily guessers with pages in the same format: Pokedle, Smashdle, Narutodle, OnePiecedle and Dotadle, all introduced on the Dle games hub.
Emoji and Splash: the modes strategy cannot help
Emoji shows a sequence of emoji that describes the champion; each guess reveals a new one, everyone sees the same sequence, and the full set is shown after a win. Splash shows a section of a splash art — cut from the champion's original art or from any skin — and each try zooms out a bit; after you find the champion, a bonus question asks for the splash's name. Neither mode scores your wrong guesses against the answer, so there is nothing to deduce from a miss except that the champion is not that one.
Ability sits between them. The icon does not change, but a Name Clue unlocks after a few tries, and the Challenger setting lets you make it harder with a grey filter or a random rotation. Once you name the champion, a bonus question asks whether the icon is the Passive, Q, W, E or R.
Reading the answer table without spoiling everything
The table has one row per mode and region, and each row gives only the mode and the champion's name. There are no attribute columns, so the way to use it as a hint is to cover what you have not played: find the row for the mode you are stuck on, check the region label and puzzle number against your game, and read just that one name. If you want a nudge rather than the answer, the LoLdle hub has the roster breakdowns that let you work Classic out yourself — which resources are rare, which species are small, how the release years fall — and the Dle games hub explains how the six guessers this site covers compare.
Quote mode, and what its clues give you
The Quote mode shows a sentence the champion says during a game or during champion select, with no name attached. After six tries the audio clue unlocks and you can listen to the line, which helps if you know the champion's voice better than the words; once you win you can play it in full. If League of Legends is not available in your language, the line is marked as automatically translated, with a click to see the original — worth trying when a quote seems unfamiliar. HintSheet's table lists only the champion's name for Quote.
Why the year arrow matters most here
Release year is the only one of the seven columns with an order, so it is the only one that tells you which side of your guess the answer lies on; every other column says only match, partial or no match. The roster's years are uneven — 42 champions are dated 2009, 24 each in 2010 and 2011, 19 in 2012, then single digits per year through 2026 — so the arrow is most useful when the opener sits near the middle of that list rather than the middle of the calendar. After a down arrow from a 2011 guess, the 66 earlier champions all date from 2009 or 2010; after an up arrow, 83 champions are spread across fifteen years, and the second guess should aim at around 2014 to split them again.
A worked Classic, guess by guess
Computed from LoLdle's roster data with the help screen's colour rules, for Cassiopeia (Classic, Europe #1518 in our 2 September 2026 file). Open with Jinx — female, Bottom, Human/Chemically Altered, Mana, Ranged, Zaun, 2013. Feedback: Gender green, Position red, Species orange, Resource green, Range green, Region red, Release year down. Nine champions fit: Annie, Cassiopeia, Karma, LeBlanc, Lux, Morgana, Sona, Syndra and Zyra. Second guess Elise — female, Jungle/Support, Human/Magically Altered, Mana, Melee/Ranged, Shadow Isles/Noxus, 2012. Feedback: Species green, Range orange, Region orange, Position red, year down again. Two champions remain, Cassiopeia and LeBlanc, and the third guess has an even chance of being the answer. Elise did the work because three of her columns hold two values each, so even partial matches carried information.
Frequently asked questions
When does LoLdle reset?
Per the game's Time zone setting, Europe at midnight UTC+2 and America at midnight UTC−6. The region label and puzzle number in the table tell you which puzzle each row is.
Why do I have a different answer?
Most likely America is one puzzle ahead of Europe at the moment, or you are on the other setting. Match the puzzle number your game shows.
Do the five modes share an answer?
No. Each mode has its own champion each day.
What does the year arrow mean?
The answer was released earlier (down) or later (up) than your guess; it appears on a red release-year tile.
Does the table show Classic attributes?
No. It lists the champion's name for each mode and region only, so read just the row you need if you want to keep the rest unspoiled.
