How the archive is organised

Every game's archive page lists its months, newest first, and the latest thirty puzzles in a table with the date, the number and a one-line summary. Month pages either link to individual puzzle pages (numbered games) or show each day's full solution inline (the rest). Puzzle pages carry previous and next links so you can walk through a run of days.

Dates are the puzzle's own date in its game's time zone — Pacific for LinkedIn, Eastern for the Times, UTC for the Dle games — which is also the date the answer was published here.

What the archive is for

Three uses come up constantly. Settling a dispute — 'what was yesterday's Pinpoint?' — which the numbered pages answer in one click. Studying a game — reading a month of Connections purple groups in a row is the fastest way to learn the mechanisms the guide describes. And catching up on a missed streak day out of curiosity, since the games themselves don't offer it. The archive is complete from the site's launch and every page carries its original publish date.

Coverage and gaps

The archive is complete from each game's first day on HintSheet. For the NYT games that means the launch week of the site; for LinkedIn and the Dle games the same. Earlier puzzles are not reconstructed — the site publishes what it reads at reset, and doesn't backfill from other sources, so what's here is what was checked. If a day is missing for a game, it's because the game was offline or changed format that day; the game's hub notes it.

Using the archive with the guides

Each guide's claims about patterns — Connections' purple mechanisms, Pinpoint's category shapes, Queens' region shapes — are drawn from the puzzles in this archive. If you want to check one, the month pages are the raw material: read a month of purple groups and the mechanism list stops being an assertion and becomes something you've seen.

How dates and numbers work

Every puzzle carries its game's own number where the game has one — Pinpoint, Crossclimb, Queens, Tango, Zip, Mini Sudoku, Patches, Wend, Connections, Wordle, Strands, and the Dle games — and a date in the game's time zone. Spelling Bee has no number and is filed by date. The Dle games' two regional puzzles share a date and appear together on one page, labelled Europe and America, with each region's number.

Requesting a missing day

If a day you're sure ran isn't in the archive, the contact page reaches the editor; missing days are backfilled only when the puzzle can be verified from the game itself, never from another site's copy. The archive's value is that everything in it was checked; a reconstructed entry would undercut that.

A note on permanence

Answer pages are never deleted or unpublished. If a game is discontinued, its archive stays where it is with a note on the hub. If a puzzle was corrected after publication, the page carries both the original and the correction with the date. The point of an archive is that it can be relied on to still be there; a site that prunes old answers to look tidy isn't an archive.
