A Spelling Bee solver for any hive — today's, yesterday's, or one you're making up. Type the centre letter and the six outer letters and it returns every word of four letters or more that uses the centre letter and only those seven letters, grouped by length, with pangrams marked and the point total computed the way the game scores it.
It's built on a public-domain English list rather than the Times' private one, so expect a small number of differences at the edges: a rare word the Times rejects, occasionally a common word it accepts that isn't in the list. For the purpose most people have — finding the pangram, or the last few words to Genius — it does the job.

How to use it well
Enter the letters, then look at the pangram line first — it's the highest-value word and usually the one you were stuck on. Then scan the length groups from longest to shortest: the long words are the ones you're least likely to find on your own, and the four-letter group is where the volume is if you're a few points short of Genius.
Scoring, as the tool computes it
Four letters: 1 point. Five or more: one point per letter. Pangram: length plus 7. The total shown is the sum over every word in the list, which is what the game calls the day's maximum.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the solver show a word the game didn't accept?
The Times curates its list by hand; ours is a dictionary filtered by the rules. A few obscure words will differ.
